Dr. Abdullah Abdul Samad Marafi

Vice Chairman of the Board

Dr. Abdullah Marafi serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board at KIB Invest, bringing a wealth of experience in finance, real estate, and public service. Dr. Marafi is also serving as a member of KIB's Board of Directors since 2010, he has also chaired and served on several prominent boards, including Omniyat Holding Company. His leadership roles span organizations such as Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait Airways, and KIB Takaful Insurance.

Dr. Marafi previously held ministerial positions as State Minister of Housing Affairs and Minister of Services Affairs. Since 2021, he has been the CEO of Al-Arabiya Real Estate Co. Beyond his executive roles, he is active in research, collaborating with institutions like KFAS and Kuwait University.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Kuwait University in 1989, a Master in Business Administration from European School of Management in 2003, and a Ph.D. in Business from the American University in London in 2006.

Mr. Othman Mohammad Tawfiqi

Board Member

Mr. Othman Tawfiqi is currently a member of the Board of KIB Invest, bringing over 14 years of extensive experience in the finance and banking industry. He joined KIB in 2018 as a key member of the Bank’s Executive Management team, where he oversees the development and execution of the Retail Banking Department’s strategy.

In addition to his role at KIB Invest, Mr. Tawfiqi is also currently serving as the Vice Chairman of K-Net (The Shared Electronic Banking Services Company).

Prior to his role at KIB, Mr. Tawfiqi held several prominent positions in Kuwait’s banking sector. He served as Assistant General Manager of Retail Banking, Head of Product and Business Development, and Head of Delivery Channels at Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK). He also managed the Call Center at the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), further enriching his diverse leadership experience in banking operations and customer service.

Mr. Mohamed Said El Saka

Board Member

Mr. El Saka currently serves as a Board Member of KIB Invest. With over 32 years of experience in various financial fields, including 21 years in the Islamic banking industry, he has established himself as a leading figure in the sector.

Throughout his career, Mr. El Saka has held notable positions, including Chairman of the Accounting and Auditing Standards Board of (AAOIFI) and member of its council and technical committees for multiple terms. He has also contributed to technical work groups for organizations like the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) and has participated as a lecturer in numerous conferences and seminars.

Mr. El Saka joined KIB in August 2014 as General Manager of the Financial Control & Planning Department. He was promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer in May 2016 and served as Acting Chief Executive Officer from September 2015 to September 2018.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Ain Shams University, Egypt (1990), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate (1995), and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate (1998), both from the United States.

Mr. Ahmad Bader Al Farsi

Independent Board Member

Mr. Al Farsi serves as an Independent Board Member at KIB Invest and is the Executive Manager of the Investment Department at Al Farsi Group. His previous experience includes roles as an Investment Analyst and positions within the Wealth Department at Boubyan Bank, as well as in Direct Investments at Kuwait Finance and Investment Company (KFIC).

He is actively involved in the community, holding memberships in the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Kuwait Association for Protecting Public Funds, and the Kuwait Volunteer Work Center.

Mr. Al Farsi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the Arab Open University and possesses several certifications in Islamic banking and financial services.
